Want to find out how veterinarians maintain their passion for our profession?

13 March 2018

This year the Annual Conference features an exciting new session, giving eight short-listed speakers an opportunity to share their passion for the profession.

Each presenter will have the opportunity to give a ten-minute, VetEd talk, packing their passion into a succinct, engaging format that promises to keep delegates entertained.

Any AVA member can apply here by Friday 3 April. A selection committee will shortlist the eight speakers against internal selection by 13 April. The speakers will present on Tuesday, 15 May from 4.00pm to 6.00pm.

But the passion doesn’t end there. Our engaging plenary speakers will provide thought-provoking sessions every day about topics that make them tick – and provide you with life-changing insights.

Dr Jordan Nguyen, an engineer who developed the mind-controlled smart wheelchair, will discuss the boundaries between human and technological evolution and intelligent technologies. Dr Jennifer Whelan, director of Psynapse Diversity and Inclusion Consulting, will talk about diversity and how to leverage the power of difference.

Brain fitness guru Dr Jenny Brockis will provide an overview of the science of high performance thinking and show you how to harness its power. The Ben Cunneen Memorial Plenary will be delivered by Professor Jakob Zinsstag, who will discuss the potential of One Health for integrated disease control.
