What if you didn’t just survive, but could thrive, in your profession?

22 March 2018

Studies have shown that veterinary careers can be highly stressful, but we can learn to tackle the challenges head on.

Our two-hour mini wellness workshops are designed to be highly interactive and equip you with the skills you need to thrive over a long career.

Rosie Overfield, a counsellor, HR consultant, yoga teacher and Mental Health First Aid Instructor will help participants develop protective thinking and practices for a healthy veterinary career. Overfield, the founder of Mindpod, has 20 years of training experience and knows intimately the stressors and strains of the veterinary profession. She has trained hundreds of veterinarians and nurses how to look after colleagues and to care for themselves.

Naomi Bickley, a clinical psychologist and leadership coach, will be facilitating the veterinary health workshop, where you will discover when it means (and what you need) to really flourish in the veterinary profession.

Bickley has worked in the field for over 22 years, including 18 years running her own practice. For the past 9 years she has worked with Murdoch University’s Veterinary school, co-designing and co-facilitating its annual “Veterinary Professional Life” camp. In 2017 the Veterinary Surgeon’s Board of Western Australia appointed her their clinical psychologist of choice.

Numbers for these workshops are limited, so make sure you choose your workshop when you register.
