Why measure eye pressure?

Most eye problems manifest themselves in the same way - a red eye. The pressure should always be measured from the red eyes. Too high or too low pressure can be the only symptom of a more serious eye disease.

The Icare TONOVET Tonometer accurately measures intraocular pressure. Painless measurement is barely noticed by the animal and does not require anaesthesia of the eye nor the calibration of the tonometer. The TONOVET is based on rebound measuring principles, in which a very light probe is used to make momentary, gentle contact with the cornea.

Eye pressure should be measured from:

  • Young patients to establish baseline readings
  • Patients older than 6-7 years
  • Patients predisposed to glaucoma (42 canine breeds)
  • Ocular examination patients
  • Head or eye trauma patients

Exclusively distributed in Australia by Sound Veterinary Equipment.

Visit our stand at the AVA Conference, stands 109-112 where we will have the TONOVET on display.
