THE AVA IS THE PEAK NATIONAL BODY REPRESENTING THE AUSTRALIAN VETERINARY PROFESSION, DELIVERING A RANGE OF SERVICES AND BENEFITS TO OVER 9,500 MEMBERS.
For nearly 100 years, we’ve represented Australian veterinarians nationwide. Providing our members with access to continuing professional development (CPD) of the highest calibre on the latest scientific thinking is a key focus of the AVA. Our CPD program planning begins up to two years in advance to ensure it includes veterinary science and business training that is interesting, relevant and accessible, so that we maintain a highly skilled veterinary workforce. Looking ahead we will embrace new technologies to proactively assist our members with more flexible and appropriate learning outcomes.

Advancing knowledge and skills
The AVA Annual Conference is a world-class program of speakers from across the globe, sharing all the latest in veterinary science and discussing the topics that are of most interest to you.
You’ll discover exciting innovations that are transforming veterinary care and learn how to adapt and innovate to meet future business and industry demands and challenges. Special interest groups will also lead field trips and workshops giving you more hands-on learning experiences.
As always, the AVA Conference features an extensive social program. Special interest group dinners, happy hours, university alumni events, meet and greets and the conference dinner - these are just a few of the events planned to enable you to gather with colleagues, exchange ideas and share experiences.
The 2018 AVA Annual Conference will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) named as the World’s Best Convention Centre! It is located in South Brisbane and occupies most of the block formed by Grey Street, Melbourne Street, Merivale Street, and Glenelg Street.
