Find out the latest developments in the education stream on Tuesday 15 May. Veterinarians in Education, Research and Academia (VERA) will provide answers to important questions: Are the days of the didactic lecture over? You’ve heard about flipped teaching - how do you apply it? Do audience response systems in lectures improve performance in assessments? What attributes do university students think veterinary employers value? How do veterinarians make ethical decisions?
Speakers include Shokoofeh Shamsi, Jan Slapeta, Tiffany Jooste, Jennifer Carter, Justine Gibson, Adele Feakes, Leonie Richards, Dan Schull and Wendy Hamood. Our speakers will share their evidence-based insights to help improve your teaching and research. During the afternoon session you will have the opportunity to talk to our poster presenters, and congratulate the winner of the Excellence in Teaching award.
All members are encouraged to attend the VERA annual general meeting, with drinks and nibbles supplied. Following the AGM, join colleagues from all areas of academia for networking and discussion at the “Food for Thought” dinner. The dinner will be held at Ahmet’s, an award-winning Turkish Restaurant. The fabulous Middle Eastern Banquet and refreshments will ensure the conversation keeps flowing.
