Ceva Animal Health launches AMODIP® in Australia; the first feline-specific treatment for hypertension in cats

Ceva Animal Health is pleased to announce the launch of AMODIP® in Australia, the first ever amlodipine designed specifically for cats and licensed for veterinary use.

AMODIP is a chicken-flavoured, two-way break chewable tablet; its 1.25mg amlodipine concentration perfectly suited for accurate treatment of cats. The tablet’s easy-snap design makes dosing 0.625mg for smaller cats effortless. Each box contains 30 tablets in blister packs for quick and professional dispensing to clients.

The feline-friendly features make it easier for cat owners to be compliant with your recommended treatment protocol and ensure that each cat is getting the right dose, reducing the risk of treatment failure.

AMODIP was successfully launched in Europe in 2016 and has been recognised with an ‘Easy to Give’ award by International Cat Care after being trialed by vets and cat owners for ease of use at home: ‘Proper compliance with prescribed doses is vital for safe and effective use of drug. Without such help, owners often fail to complete the course and leave cats inadequately treated’1.

The launch of AMODIP in Australia will be supported by videos and literature for vets and cat owners on how to measure hypertension in practice easily and with less stress, and why regular checkups are vital, written by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).

AMODIP will be available from wholesalers towards the end of March 2019.
