Equine Veterinarians Australia Dental Workshop

A well-priced 2-day introductory workshop that will give delegates the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to confidently provide equine dental services to their clients. The wet workshop will use cadaver specimens with topics including the anatomy, examination, charting, pathology 101 and 201, sedation, analgesia, local anaesthesia, radiology, floating, restorations, pulp capping and beyond. Case studies will be used. Presented by highly experienced equine dental veterinarians, Dr. Rachel Stone, and Dr. Martin Dolinschek.  This is an excellent opportunity to develop this important part of your clinical offering.

Unusual Pet and Avian Veterinarians (UPAV) Perth Zoo Field Trip

A behind the scenes tour of Perth Zoo Hospital with resident veterinarian, Simone Vitali. The day includes bus transfers and entry into Perth Zoo to enjoy exploring the zoo at your leisure. Bus departs PECC at 9.00am sharp and departs from the zoo at 3pm.

Australian Veterinary Acupuncture Group (AVAG) - Myofascial Kinetic Lines Workshop - tests and treatment

Presented by Dr. Rikke Shultz DVM.  Fascia has for a long time been almost neglected, yet research in both humans and animals is proving the importance of this strong three-dimensional web which connects the whole body.  Continuing on from Dr. Shultz’s lectures on the importance of fascia, this introductory workshop will cover the Myofascial Kinetic Lines in the dog and horse with regard to anatomy, function, testing and points for treatment. Registration and cuppa at 8.30am for a 9.00am start. Includes morning tea and lunch.

Cliftons is a short walk from the Convention Centre. Join us for a Bush Tucker walk in King’s Park in the afternoon.

Equine Veterinarians Australia (EVA) – Pre-Purchase Examination Workshop

Presented by Dr. Nathan Anthony BVSc MANZCVSc and Dr. Nick Kannegieter BVSc Ph.D. FACVSc.  Fully guided and interactive, delegates will be using EVA’s - 5 Stage Pre-Purchase Examination video to learn pre-purchase examinations for the Sporthorse, Racehorse and Juvenile. The workshop will cover How to communicate effectively with the Purchaser and Vendor; How to report abnormal findings; How to assess the use of radiology, endoscopy and drug screening and very importantly How to avoid litigation by a disgruntled client.

Australian Veterinary Acupuncture Group (AVAG) – Bush Tucker Walk

Meet at Botanic Café, end of Fraser Avenue, Kings Park (about 2km walk from the workshop at Clifton’s or catch a taxi)

Join us for a guided tour to learn about the native plant use of the Nyoongar Indigenous people and early settlers, with a focus on medicinal plants. The walk will take us through the Botanic gardens with amazing views of Perth and the river. Walk duration of approximately 1.5 hours. Stay on for afternoon tea at the Botanical Café afterward (own cost).
