Expert help with those baffling behaviour cases.
Would you like to provide life-changing advice to clients with multiple cats? Are you considering “Fear Free” accreditation? How do you help clients raise sane pets?
The behaviour stream has the answers you need – and provides a fantastic forum for discussion.
Behaviour cases can be among the most challenging – and rewarding – cases that veterinarians deal with. The way they are managed have direct impacts on the welfare of animals and the humans they live with.
Leading the program is Dr Theresa De Porter, Board Certified Veterinary Behaviourist at Oakland Veterinary Referral Services and member of the Fear FreeSM Advisory Group. Dr De Porter will present sessions on aggressive dogs (specifically, reading the signs and management in the veterinary hospital), anxiety in cats, Fear Free clinics, managing multiple cats, phobias, puppy classes and raising a sane dog.
She will be supported by a team of local speakers including Jacqui Ley and Kersti Seksel. Look out for combined sessions with the Australian Veterinary Business Group (Alison Lambert), welfare (Nat Waran), equine (Nat Waran) and dentistry (Tara Cashman).
Catch up with colleagues in the Australian Veterinary Behaviour Interest Group (AVBIG) dinner on Wednesday May 16 from 7.30 at the Fox Hotel. This casual two course dinner is the perfect opportunity for networking.
The Behaviour stream is sponsored by Vetoquinol.
