The UPAV stream runs on Tuesday and Wednesday in the conference program, with an exciting line-up of speakers discussing a swag of topics covering wildlife as well as unusual and avian pets. Tuesday’s speakers include Bob Doneley (guinea pig dermatology), Lynda Bonning (distemper in ferrets), Melinda Cowan (avian anaesthesia), Hamish Baron (common avian consultations), Brendan Carmel (pesky parasites), Gerry Skinner (sneezing rabbits), and Shane Simpson (reptile foreign bodies).
Robert Johnson will provide unmissable personal insights into the delights and perils of treating venomous creatures, followed by Andrew Tribe and Bronwyn Orr (wildlife rehabilitation), Amber Gillet (wild koala consults) and Adam Polkinghorne (chlamydial blindness in koalas).
The Wednesday program features Annabelle Olsson who will be talking about crocodile conservation in the AVCB stream before switching to the UPAV stream after lunch to discuss fearless fish medicine. Or join Nat Waran who will discuss pain assessment in a combined small animal, welfare and UPAV session.
